Suminagashi (Paper Marbling)

Suminagashi, which translates to "floating black ink," is an ancient Japanese meditative practice that involves gently floating pigments on the surface of water with a brush and capturing the result on absorbent paper.  This engaging 2-hour workshop introduces this time-honored technique while exploring various artistic possibilities.  You’ll watch a live demonstration, learn about preparation, materials and receive individual coaching to create mesmerizing line techniques.   

Each participant will leave with at least five beautiful Suminagashi prints and the confidence to continue practicing on their own.
